Idukki is geographically the largest district in Kerala, however it is scantily populated as most of Idukki's land is consumed by picturesque & tall hills of Western Ghats with many lakes and dams in their lap. The small but hardworking & unrelenting populace of Idukki has battled the uneven terrain and the wild nature to make a livelihood and make tremendous progress in the life. The same instincts of the Idukki natives have made them most sporting community in Kerala. Idukki's map is dotted with 100s of coaching facilities, sports clubs, stadiums, grounds, indoor stadiums, sports schools, sports hostels and gyms where many thousands pursue their sporting ambitions. The inherent sportsmanship of the Idukki natives and availability of the facilities has helped Idukki nurture internationally acclaimed sportspersons like S.Gopinath, Mr. Shijas Ahammed, M.K. Manuel, Binu Jose, Tinu Jose, Shiny Wilson, K M Beenamol, K M Binu & Preeja Sreedharan. Idukki is also home to the best coaches & trainers of Kerala. Lets hail the spirit of Idukki.
